How to Make Unicorn Food Using Gold Medal Concession Supplies

Fun Food Recipes for a Unicorn Party

It seems that unicorns are everywhere lately! The trend was already growing, and ever since the invention of the Unicorn Frappuccino, the craze has steadily reached new heights. Just about anyone in the food industry has created or at least considered making a unicorn version of some menu item, and fun foods are an especially great place to play with the signature bright rainbow colors.

Here’s our roundup of some tasty unicorn food treats that are also visually appealing. Whether you run a concession stand, plan parties, or want to try something creative in your restaurant, you can use these recipes to spark ideas.

Rainbow Fudge

Creamy, decadent, and delicious, Gold Medal’s Rainbow Fudge incorporates cotton candy floss into Sweet Selections® Base Fudge Mix for a delightful coloring that’s also big on flavor. We used Silly Nilly (Pink Vanilla) and Boo Blue (Blue Raspberry) Flossine to flavor the fudge and then created a swirl pattern for a pink and purple result.

Topped with plenty of sprinkles and marshmallow cereal, it’s (almost) too pretty to eat!

Rainbow Popcorn

Combining the taste of Cherry Pink Glaze Pop® with the blue raspberry of Boo Blue Flossugar, our Rainbow Popcorn is the perfect treat for a unicorn party! These two flavors are joined with sweet melted White Alpine Chocolate Wafers and of course topped with lots of colorful sprinkles to make a snack worth munching on for hours.

Cotton Candy Burrito

Although it has a much shorter shelf life than our other unicorn foods, the Cotton Candy Burrito is absolutely worth it for a unicorn party. Spin up the cotton candy in advance, and then craft the burrito in front of an audience of customers to add to the experience. Offer a choice of ice cream flavors, but stick to lighter colors to keep the theme (sorry, chocolate lovers!).

We used cotton candy ice cream for our burrito, but for those who may be intimidated by the sweet factor, plain vanilla will cut the sweetness back to just the perfect amount.

Rainbow and Sprinkle Waffle Cones

Taste and function go hand in hand with these two recipes for waffle cones: unicorn horns for décor and tasty treats guests can eat! Rainbow cones are great for an ice cream dessert, and white-chocolate-coated cones work best stuffed with cotton candy or Rainbow Popcorn.
