Apple Donuts

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Sweet Signature Shake of your choice (recommended: Churro, Caramel)
  • 2-3 lbs Tart/firm apples (such as Granny Smith, Pink Lady, etc.)
  • ½ bag Funnel Cake Mix #5100 (or pancake mix)
  • 2-3 cups Neutral oil

 

Directions

  • Heat oil to 360-375 F
  • While oil is heating, slice apples through the midline (from side to side, not top to bottom) and then cut into rings
  • Remove core from center of apple rings using a spoon or melon baller
  • Prepare funnel cake (or pancake) mix as per instructions on the bag
  • Add Signature Shake to batter mix and stir to combine (1/4 cup Signature Shake/ 4 cups batter)
  • Dip apple rings in batter and fry
  • **Optional** toss fried apple donuts in additional Signature Shake immediately after removing from fryer
  • Serve as desired
