Gold Medal Products Co. today announced it ranked 66th on the Deloitte Cincinnati USA 100, a ranking of 100 of the largest privately owned companies in the Cincinnati area.

Excellence in Cincinnati’s family and private business community was celebrated at the Goering Center’s 18th Annual Family and Private Business Awards Gala held at JACK Cincinnati Casino on September 12, 2017.

Gold Medal was honored to receive the award as Cincinnati’s Top Family Business (101+ employees). The focus of this year’s event was individual business achievements within the regional dynamics. An independent panel of judges evaluated nominees based on how the company has contributed to the success of the region. Gold Medal’s recent building expansion and ongoing employment growth demonstrated an immediate impact in the community. In addition, Gold Medal takes pride in hosting hundreds of attendees from around the world at the company’s annual distributors’ conference, held every year in Cincinnati.

Gold Medal President, Adam Browning states, “Since 1931, Gold Medal has seen how the greater Cincinnati region has progressed and we’ve had the privilege to contribute to its success. We are so honored to receive this prestigious recognition by the Goering Center’s Family and Private Business Awards. The Goering Center reports that each year, more than 500 businesses are nominated and from those nominees, 75 semi-finalists are selected. At the gala, three awards are presented in each of the two divisions: family business and private business with levels distinguished by number of employees.

At the 2017 Manny Awards, hosted by Cincy Magazine, Gold Medal was awarded recognition as a “Best Place to Work.”

If you love foods like popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones, you’ll be happy to know Colorado is now home to the newest branch location of Gold Medal Products Co., the global leader for concession food equipment and supplies. Formerly operating as American Concession Supply, Gold Medal – Colorado will serve as the region’s expert resource for the concession industry.

Pete Bakala is Gold Medal’s vice president of branch operations and sales. He shares his enthusiasm about the expansion by stating, “The energy of this region is exciting! A dedicated engineering professional, Shang has nearly two decades of leadership roles within the manufacturing industry. Most recently, he served as Director of Quality and Engineering with Henny Penny, a manufacturer of foodservice equipment. At Gold Medal, he will lead, develop and direct the engineering and technical teams. With a disciplined approach to ensuring best practices, his responsibilities will include new product development, product engineering and quality processes.

First, the appearance is attractive and engaging. The sleek and modern design is complete with colorful, eye-catching graphics, allowing it to complement any setting. The performance is equally as impressive with well-thought-out attributes:

• Fast-freeze compressor has a pressure switch, which allows for longer mechanical life.
• The improved rear seal lowers the risk of any leakage.
• Structurally, the new handle is designed for durability. Plus, the push or pull to vend design is of particular importance to equipment rental companies and traveling concession stands.
• New larger drip trays aid in keeping the surrounding surface clean.

Browning joined Gold Medal in 2010 and most recently served in the dual role of Executive Vice President and General Counsel. His guidance has been integral to not only legal and compliance issues, but also to implementing policies and procedures that contribute to operational efficiencies, productivity and profitability. Above all else, Browning says he is most proud of the relationships he has built, both within the Company and with Gold Medal customers. “This is a relationship business. I will continue to focus on customer service and building strong relationships with our customers and within the industry.”

Browning enters the role with an eye on the company’s continuing performance and growth. He states, “This is a pivotal time in Gold Medal’s history.
